These cowardly attacks in Oslo and Utøya (RIP) have again shown the world that we are not safe.

Oslo Bombings 2011

It is time to increase the level of security we all have by realising that we have helped these idiots with their task by allowing our sense of decency to give them human rights!

i am NOT asking the whole world to pick up arms and come out fighting but if we all stop worrying about our privacy so much and allow a little bit more security into our lives, at the airports and seaports especially, we might be able to help stop these terrible events taking place.

I am also not asking that their basic human rights are taken away but we all must accept that to keep us safe our elected officials and those trusted agencies must be allowed to do their jobs without fear of recrimination because some old man has had his picture taken with a camera that can look through clothes, or someone accused of planning an atrocity such as happened today is detained for three days too long. He/She did NOT think about that attacking a YOUTH CAMP… or blowing up a street with people going about their daily business.

This sort of attitude is M.A.D.

These attacks have also indicated that ANYONE is a target. ANYWHERE. So those in the “Safe” countries please look at your security*.
Do not think that you have no troops in Afghanistan or Libya so you are not a target, we all are and we must help each other to stop these groups destroying our lives.

There are products that can help with the privacy issues we have, but mostly there are people and products that can help increase our safety without making us prisoners in our own homes.

RIP those lost on this black day and speedy recovery to the injured. Our thoughts are with you all.

They shall not grow old as we grow old….

“Soldier earns Military Cross with three acts of ‘astonishing’ heroism”

A soldier has been awarded the Military Cross for three “astonishing” acts of bravery when he put himself in the line of fire to allow colleagues to reach safety in Afghanistan.

Lance Corporal Marc Reader, 23, from Brentwood, said today that the medal – awarded for “continuous gallantry and selfless commitment” – was “a nice surprise”.

The former bricklayer joined the Army in 2005 and is a member of 1st Battalion, The Coldstream Guards.

In the first incident, a soldier in his reconnaissance unit became pinned down by fire when their squad came under attack from the Taliban.

L/Cpl Reader drew the enemy’s fire by putting himself in their sights, thereby allowing his colleague to reach cover. His return fire was so accurate that the insurgents stopped shooting and ran away. On a second patrol, his team was again ambushed, leading to the unit commander asking for volunteers for an outflanking manoeuvre.

L/Cpl Reader and a colleague charged the Taliban positions, forcing them to flee. His third act of heroism came when his squad was pinned down near a minefield by Taliban fighters firing from three different directions.

L/Cpl Reader raced down a ditch and, after allowing himself to be visible to Taliban guns, immediately returned fire. His fellow soldiers were able to reach safety.

He said: “The medal was a nice surprise, but I feel like I just did my job and what was expected of me. We took the fight to the enemy and won, which felt good.”

L/Cpl Reader is engaged to a chef who is with the Royal Logistic Corps and is attached to his battalion.

A Ministry of Defence spokeswoman said: “L/Cpl Readers’ continuous gallantry, personal example and offensive spirit in the face of fierce enemy attacks have been exemplary throughout the tour.

“He has stepped into ambush killing areas, stormed insurgent firing positions and exposed himself to draw fire away from his comrades. He has consistently placed himself in grave danger to protect his comrades with scant regard for his own safety.

“His gallantry and selfless commitment have been astonishing.”

“Briton ‘missing in Afghanistan’”

An urgent search is under way to locate a female British aid worker kidnapped in Afghanistan.

The unnamed woman was abducted in Kunar province, north-east Afghanistan, alongside three Afghan nationals with whom she is thought to have been working.

The international development professional for Development Alternatives Inc (DAI) was travelling in a convoy of two vehicles when insurgents attacked their party.

Kunar police chief Khalilullah Zaiyi said officers chased after the kidnappers and were engaged in a brief firefight before the men escaped.

A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: “We can confirm a British national has been abducted in Afghanistan. We are working closely with all the relevant local authorities. We are also in touch with the family and are providing consular assistance.”

American aid contractor DAI also has a London office.

Local tribal elders are believed to be assisting in the search for the three missing people.

An attack was launched on DAI offices in Kunduz, northern Afghanistan, in July, in which a British private security guard was killed.

Shaun Sexton, a 29-year-old former member of the Parachute Regiment, worked for DAI’s security sub-contractor, Edinburgh International. Three other security guards employed by the firm, two Afghans and one German, were also killed.

Last month, British aid worker Dr Karen Woo was shot dead with nine colleagues in Afghanistan. They were returning from delivering medical supplies to poor Afghans in remote mountain communities, in an expedition organised by Kabul-based Christian charity the International Assistance Mission.

Soldiers to be told they’re discharged while still deployed

“Soldiers to be told they’re discharged while still deployed”

Soldiers could be put forward for discharge from the Army while serving on the frontline in Afghanistan.

Some serving soldiers are likely to have to leave under the manning control points programme, the Ministry of Defence said.

An MoD spokeswoman said MCP was aimed at ensuring the right balance of skills in certain trades and experience.

She said: “The Army is close to being fully manned for the first time in some years. To ensure that there is the right balance of soldiers for current operations, a small number could be required to leave under the manning control points.”

Those chosen to go could be identified while serving on the frontline, but it is understood that the process of discharging them would not start until they had returned to Britain.

Being Happy and Tony (the prat) Blair

Millennium Bridge with the Tate Modern in the ...

Image via Wikipedia

Today was one of the most fulfilling days I have had in work for a long time. I love it when you have responsive people who are willing to listen but also engage with you as a mentor.
I enjoyed the work I did today, even if some of it has to be finished tomorrow due to the internet. The rest of the day was a pleasure. Thank you.

It really makes a change from feeling like you can’t breath all day, dreading that you are going to get spoken down to again by a complete idiot and wanting to drive away. It shows that you can get back what you put in, occasionally…

what’s happening with the boy Blair then? (Tony the scumbag I mean).

He is cancelling book signings at stores but is still going to the Tate Modern? Does he know he is not wanted? Does he know how angry he has made the families of the Fallen? The injured? The mentally tormented?

He deserves to go to Afghanistan for his next book signing in the middle of the Green Zone. Let him then say how he is trying to tell his story and not make money! Remember, I urge you to NOT buy his book but instead give the money to the British Legion or the very worthwhile William Aldridge Foundation. I will post links to both later.

Todays the day of Independence here…

Tuesday, Day 2456 in the Little Miss House… (Ohh I hate Big brother)

But i am watching India with interest. Not content to demand access to all data passing through Blackberry Smartphones they are now demanding Google and Skype hand over all the Etraffic they generate in the country too…

I am watching that with great interest…

Well what a day. The first story I have picked up on was tweeted by my wife this morning and shows that the Military generally looks after its own. Especially when there are not enough helicopters and vehicles to go around.

A true hero leading from the front who was killed by an IED in Afghanistan was left out in the open guarded by his men for a number of days because there was no transport to get him back.

Am I missing the point here? Were the guys guarding him not alive? Did they also not need to return to the protection of a camp?

I’m sure they would have been glad to pick up the remains of their Boss and return him to his base.

Or was the shortage of vehicle and helicopters not urgent enough to send out for these guys?

The report states they came under attack while guarding his remains! If that is so, the need would have been there to get them all back to base! The Military likes to shout from the roof tops when some idiot flies on the wing of an attack helicopter to rescue the body of another hero but the MOD cover up the fact that was a one off and most of the time the dead are not treated as well as that, unless the troops on the ground take it upon themselves to go out and recover the body(ies).

Desecration of a true war hero: Helicopter shortage forced troops to guard remains of most senior officer killed in Afghanistan for three days.

Britain’s most senior officer killed in Afghanistan suffered a final insult in death because of a lack of helicopters on the front line.

Lieutenant Colonel Rupert Thorneloe, 39, was killed by a Taliban roadside bomb in July last year after warning that the shortage of aircraft was putting lives at risk.

The Daily Mail can now reveal that soldiers who watched their commanding officer die were then forced to look after some of his remains for three days because there were no helicopters available to collect them.

And then there are reports today of speculation that the French and British will share Aircraft carriers in the future. Well we tried that and defeated them every time in the 1600’s!!!

Blimey!!!

Then you get stories like this proving the British Navy are worth their weight in GOLD!!!

‘There was no argument’: Giant Royal Navy destroyer looms over yacht carrying £4m worth of cocaine

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1307657/Royal-Navy-destroyer-looms-yacht-carrying-4m-worth-cocaine.html#ixzz0yE1OvgXs

I love the fact the Navy ship just dwarfs the little matchstick boat! Hahaha

And why do we need the ships, sailors and all the other Arms for our fair land of the UK when you have this scum to contend with?

Hoodie gang smashed by police after posting drug and gun boasts on YouTube

Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1307592/YouTube-hoodie-gang-smashed-police-drug-gun-boasts-online.html#ixzz0yE1SV4kM

At least this lot have been sorted by the Police but just the publicity alone in the National Media means these scum have heightened their stature, especially amongst all the other idiots who can’t spell in their home town…

It’s about time the community Policeman was allowed to give the little darlings a bloody good clip round the ear when they need it. They may turn out to be better people,

Or better still, send them little toads to Afghanistan instead of the real Men.
